Additional FTP Accounts

Additional FTP accounts are most commonly used to give others access to an account for the purpose of sharing a web development project - without giving them control over the entire website. By restricting their access to their home directory, you can ensure they can only modify files within this particular space.

Each FTP account comes with a unique username which you specify when set up, and a random password. Additionally, you specify the home directory of each FTP account, which will ensure that the FTP account user cannot move below this specified area of your account.

Please note that the master account holder is responsible for the actions of all of the FTP accounts that he/she activates. Additional FTP accounts must abide by our standard terms and conditions and we remind you that the distribution of copyright material will result in account suspension.

Backup or Restore Your Website

Creating a backup allows you to download your website as a zip file to your computer, you can use this to make a regular backup of your website in case you lose any data.

In the event of data loss you can use any previous backup to restore your website.

Create a Backup

You can either create a full or a partial backup of your website. If your site is very large it may take a few minutes for the download to start, it may also take some time to download the backup depending on your Internet connection.
