 Web Hosting FAQ
Are your servers Windows or Linux based?
What is Linux?
Do you support ASP.NET?
Can I host Joomla and Drupal sites under Windows shared hosting?
What are your DNS names?
We offer both Windows and Linux hosting to our customers - both of these are fully supported by their vendors (Microsoft and RedHat) and kept up-to-date and secure for high uptime and secure hosting.
You can use either platform to host your website, regardless of what you run on your own PC - Windows PCs can connect to Linux servers perfectly well. If you're unsure of which to use, consult the documentation for the software that you're using - unless it specifically requires Windows, many people prefer to use Linux as many scripts are developed to run on this platform.

Linux is a UNIX-like operating system that was designed to provide personal computer users a free or very low-cost operating system comparable to traditional and usually more expensive UNIX systems. Linux has a reputation as a very efficient and fast-performing system.
Linux's kernel (the central part of the operating system) was developed by Linus Torvalds at the University of Helsinki in Finland. To complete the operating system, Torvalds and other team members made use of system components developed by members of the Free Software Foundation for the GNU Project.

Yes, we do! ASP.NET and .NET2 applications will only run in a Windows hosting environment, and we run .NET Framework 3.5 SP1. Please note that ASP.NET is not a simple upgrade to ASP, it is a completely new framework.

CMS like Joomla and Drupal requires MySQL databases which are available under Linux shared accounts. So there isn’t any advantage to run these systems under a Windows hosting account.
